GRASS VALLEY >> Mateo Garcia finished first in folkstyle competition last weekend as six members of the CORE Wrestling Club of Lower Lake took part in a Sacramento Area Wrestling Association tournament at Bear River High School in Grass Valley.
Folkstyle, freestyle and Greco divisions were offered at the tournament.
Dylan Neuharth came in second in folkstyle while Miguel Garcia placed third.
In freestyle action, Neuharth added another second-place medal, both Mateo and Miguel Garcia came in second, and Lower Lake High School alum Ryan Dahneke also finished second.
Freestyle third-place finishes went to Hailee McRae and Liberty Fuchs. Just missing out on two medals was Anthony McRae.
Next up for CORE Wrestling is the Coastal Mountain Wrestling Association championships.
