Upper Lake >> The Lake County 36th Annual Outdoor Passion Play takes place May 14 and 15 at 4 p.m.
The performance is an outdoor presentation on gentle, rolling hills located at 7010 Westlake Road in Upper Lake. It depicts the passion, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ.
More than 150 players re-enact this drama. Mounted Roman soldiers sweep across the 1,000-foot stage; sheep wander across the hillside; a sound system carries the dialogue drawn from Matthew, Mark Luke and John.
Admission is free. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs. No food, drinks, pets or smoking are allowed.
