Kelseyville >> Finch Gardens will celebrate it’s 15th season opener Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with an extensive plant sale. Reminiscent of “Art in the Garden” days, artists will be on hand to show and offer their art work for sale and face painter, Roni Parker, will also be at the event.

Children can also enjoy the farm animals and for a fee, moms can get a massage from certified massage therapist, Ruth Shriver.

For mothers who prefer a quieter celebration, the catering team at Finch Gardens will host a Mother’s Day tea party from 3 to 5 p.m. The team is a group who, after spending two years in the Kelseyville Kids’ Garden Club with Ms. Helen Finch, have taken to joining her on Saturdays to learn about growing, preparing and serving farm-to-table meals. Call to make your reservations.

Finch started Finch Gardens when she moved to Lake County in April 2000. She hosted Art in the Garden every May for five years as a way to bring people out to her farm to purchase the produce, flowers and herbs that she grows.

In 2009 the family garage was turned into a bungalow-style rental unit for weekenders and vacationers so that they too might come experience the garden. Finch enjoys hosting people from all over the world but loves the idea that families from the Bay Area have children who will remember Finch Gardens as a place where they sat around a campfire with mom and Dad and saw stars like never before.
