KELSEYVILLE >> The Kelseyville Knights hit three home runs for the second North Central League I softball game in a row, pummeling the Willits Wolverines 12-3 on Friday afternoon in Kelseyville behind two-run shots from Brendelyn Pelzel, Bib Hamner and Kailani Brown.

Kelseyville also smacked three homers in a 12-4 win on Tuesday at St. Helena where Hamner hit a pair.

Brown (3-for-4) and Hamner (2-for-4) also connected for doubles as Kelseyville bumped its league record to 5-4 and its overall mark to 8-4. Cassidy Griffen, who bats ninth for the Knights, also had a big day by going 3-for-3 with two RBIs.

Winning pitcher Morgan Profitt scattered four hits and allowed just one earned run while striking out three and walking three. She also had a hit and knocked in a run.

Baseball

Cloverdale 6, Clear Lake 0

At Lakeport, Chris Harms pitched a one-hitter and allowed only two baserunners as the Cloverdale Eagles shut out the Clear Lake Cardinals in NCL I varsity baseball action.

Cloverdale (9-1) remains a game back of Kelseyville (10-0) in the league standings while Clear Lake slips to 4-7 and 5-16 overall.

John Vertrees broke up Harms’ no-hitter with a lead-off single to center field in the bottom of the seventh. Ryan Damiata walked in the first inning for Clear Lake’s only other runner against Harms.

“He had three pitches working today,” Clear Lake coach Zane Jensen said. “He threw his off-speed pitches for strikes and had good location on his fastball.”

Damiata pitched the first five innings for Clear Lake and took the loss. He left the game trailing 3-0.

JV baseball

Fort Bragg 7, Lower Lake 0

At Fort Bragg, Jack Mitcham and J.T. Tinkler had the only Lower Lake hits in a shutout loss to the Fort Bragg Timberwolves.

Bryan Fonseca worked the first 2 1/3 innings for Lower Lake (5-4, 9-5) and took the loss.
