Lower Lake >> The Anderson Marsh Interpretive Association (AMIA) will hold its Annual Membership Meeting on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. The meeting will take place in the historic Anderson Ranch House at Anderson Marsh State Historic Park.
“The AMIA board would like to invite everyone to join us in a celebration of another year of helping to keep Anderson Marsh State Historic Park thriving and available for all of us to enjoy,” AMIA Secretary Gae Henry said.
The program will include music and refreshments, introduction of AMIA’s 2016 officers and board members, a presentation explaining the special projects AMIA is planning for the next year, and AMIA’s 2016 Volunteer of the Year Awards.
AMIA Board Members will be available to answer questions about the ranch house and what is happening in the park.
The event is free and open to the public.
“Over 30 years ago, the citizens of Lake County established the Anderson Marsh Interpretive Association at the end of a victorious ‘people’s campaign’ that resulted in the creation of Anderson Marsh State Historic Park,” stated Roberta Lyons, AMIA president. “The creation of the park saved Anderson Marsh from commercial development and preserved the priceless Native American and European settler history found there, as well as the natural wonders that are found in the park today … In 2011 the community again took action and saved the park from closure by contributing the funds necessary to allow AMIA to keep the park open.”
Anderson Marsh State Historic Park is located on Highway 53, between Lower Lake and Clearlake. For information about the event, contact AMIA at (707) 995-2658 or email info@andersonmarsh.org.
