KELSEYVILLE >> Lake County Fire Recovery Blues Benefit #2 will be held on Saturday, May 21 at Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum, 9921 Soda Bay Rd in Kelseyville. The benefit will be an outdoor music festival from 3 to 7 p.m. with local crafts, food, beer and wine, info booths, raffles and a silent auction.
This is the second Blues Benefit produced by Spotlight On Productions to support fire recovery in Lake County. Blues Benefit #2 will raise funds for Hope City, aka Hope Crisis Response Network (HCRN), to rebuild homes lost in the Valley Fire. 100 percent of funds raised will be directed towards purchasing building materials from the local community. The rebuild program known as Hope City/Team Lake County is projecting to build 130-150 houses for Lake County families with little or no insurance over the next 3 to 5 years.
Members of the Lake County Historical Society at Ely Stage Stop and The Time Bank of Thrive Lake County are providing physical support for the event. Local media support has been provided by: KPFZ 88.1 FM, Lake County PEG TV (Ch 8 for Mediacom subscribers) and Bicoastal Media. Gates open at 2 p.m., with music from 3 to 7 p.m. Lake County will deliver smokin’ harmonica blues from 3 to 4:30 p.m. with “62 Blues” featuring Pat Gleeson, followed by guests Dave Broida, “Mojo” Larry Platz and Sue Hill. Funky dancing blues will be brought from the Bay Area from 5 to 7 p.m. by the Henry Oden Band featuring Rich Kirch, with guest guitarists Craig Caffall and Pat Wilder.
Time Bank members will be running the silent auction and selling cookies and brownies, wine and beer. Donations of wine and beer for sale have been contributed by: Smiling Dogs Ranch & Winery, Wildhurst Vineyards, Olof Cellars, O’Meara Brothers,Terrill Cellars Winery, Dutch Henry Winery, James Cole Winery and DBI Beverage Inc. Silent auction items have been donated by: Alexander Bakery, Chacewater Winery & Olive Mill, Rosa d’Oro Vineyards, Six Sigma Ranch & Winery, Thorn Hill Vineyards and ZD Winery. Sweet Annie’s Bakery of Kelseyville, Cactus Grill of Clearlake and Nay Nay’s BBQ of Clearlake will be selling food and refreshments.
Tickets are $15, payable with cash at the gate. 12 and under are Free. Guests are encouraged to carpool and bring folding chairs, hats, sunshade. Ely Stage Stop is offering free hayrides and golf cart transport to the field. Parking for ADA and seniors will be situated near the Ely barn. ADA accommodations will be available.
