UKIAH >> April showers bring May flowers and May showers bring delays in auto racing. Such was the case last weekend at the Ukiah Speedway where Saturday showers meant that the racing card was pushed back a day … into Mother’s Day.

Bandoleros, Taco Bell bombers, Legends Cars, mini-stocks and the Pacific Challenge Series Late Model were all scheduled to run although only the bombers, Legends and Late Models did so on Sunday.

Bombers

R.J. Randall won the main event in the bomber division, finishing in front of Wade Coleman, Kevin Bracket, Bradley Brackett and Bob Mook. Dash victories went to Bracket and Brandon Verde while heat wins went to Coleman and Dave Land III.

Legends

Roby Czub took the checkered flag in front of Cameron Austin, Denny Hadler Jr., Cody Winchel and James Stillman in the Legends main event. Hadler Jr. won the heat race while Austin topped the field in the trophy dash.

Late Models

The No. 75 car of Jeremy Doss dominated the proceedings in the Late Models main event. Mike Beeler followed Doss across the finish line, Jeff Bischofberger came in third, Tracy Bolin finished fourth, and Joel Courage was fifth.

Racing action resumes Saturday night at the Lakeport Speedway where the bandoleros join the bombers, jammers, Legends and modifieds.

Coming to Lakeport on May 28 is the truck and tractor pull while the annual Marlene Baker Memorial Bomber Bash is May 29. Presale tickets to the truck and tractor pull are $16 for adults and $13 for children age 12 and under. They can be purchased at the Lake County Fair Office on Martin Street in Lakeport. Gate prices are $18 for adults and $15 for children.
