ST. HELENA >> Of the three individual first-place finishes by Lake County girls on Saturday at the Coastal Mountain Conference Track Championships in St. Helena, two belonged to the same athlete, and she’s just a freshman.

Middletown’s Kelsey Lemoine won the 100- and 200-meter dashes while Clear Lake sophomore Kiana Richardson finished ahead of sophomore teammate Camille Donald to capture the high jump.

Lemoine’s big day helped Middletown finished second in the North Central League I division of the CMC with 114 points, just six behind champion Fort Bragg. St. Helena was third with 101.

The top eight finishers in each event and the top four relay teams advance to the North Coast Section Class A meet this coming Saturday at Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa, and that includes athletes from Clear Lake, Kelseyille, Middletown and Upper Lake high schools. Lower Lake athletes move on to the Redwood Empire Championships, also this coming Saturday, at Piner High School in Santa Rosa.

Girls

Lemoine won the 100 in 13.20 seconds while Sophie Bunge of St. Helena was the runner-up in 13.39.

In the 200, Lemoine crossed the finish line in 27.55 to beat out Clear Lake’s Donald, who was second in 28.03. Fifth place went to Tiana Jardstrom of Clear Lake in 28.96.

Richardson cleared 5 feet even to win the high jump while Donald was next at 4 feet, 10 inches.

In other field events, Middletown’s Meghan Carlisle (8 feet) and Clear Lake’s Paige Woodruff (7-6) finished third and fourth, respectively, in the pole vault, which was held Thursday at Willits.

Donald added another second-place finish to Clear Lake’s total in the long jump, clearing 15-10 ½. Olivia Degraca of St. Vincent won with a jump of 16-6.

In the triple jump, Miranda Logan of Kelseyville placed seventh with a leap of 26-11.

Among the other individual running events:

— Grace Southern of Middletown was fifth in the 400 at 1 minute, 7.28 seconds.

— Carlisle was second (2:34.46) and Jardstrom third (2:35.08) in the 800.

— Carlisle placed fifth (5:40.60) and Jardstrom sixth (5:50.35) in the 1,600.

— Kelseyville’s Yareli Lozano was sixth in the 3,200 at 14:17.15.

— Amy Hermann was the county’s top qualifier in the 100 hurdles, placing fifth in 19.19.

— Clear Lake’s Meghan Beare placed fourth (55.13) in front of Lower Lake’s Taylor Ogulin (55.65), Upper Lake’s Jasmine Soliz (56.37) and Middletown’s Herrmann (57.59) and Colleen Schimansky (57.97) in the 300 hurdles.

In relay action, Clear Lake placed third in the 4×100 with a time of 54.47 while Middletown won the 4×400 in 4:30.47.

Boys

Fort Bragg dominated the field in the varsity boys’ division, rolling up 199 points to 73 for second-place teams Middletown and St. Helena.

Upper Lake senior David Becerra finished second in the 300 hurdles at 43.87 while winner Shane Giaccani-Reynolds of Fort Bragg won in 43.25. Lower Lake’s Luis Pelcastre was fourth in 46.25.

Another second-place finish went to Middletown senior Noah William in the long jump with a leap of 18-6. Remy Barbiero of Sonoma Academy won in 20-0¾. Pelcastre of Lower Lake was sixth in 17-7½. Williams added a fifth-place finish in the triple jump at 37-3¾.

Finishing third in the shotput was Alex Thoman of Clear Lake at 40-5.

Nick Billeci of Middletown added a fourth-place finish in the discus at 112-8 while teammate Colton Hall was fifth in 108-7.

Other top finishers among Lake County athletes were Lower Lake’s Marlon Jones, who was fourth in the 100 (11.65) and fifth in the 200 (24.02); Upper Lake’s Becerra, fourth in the 110 hurdles (18.74); Middletown’s Jacob Olson, fifth in the 800 (2:09.46) Middletown’s Brenden Steele, sixth in the 400 (54.69); Kelseyville’s Andre Williams, sixth in the 1,600 (4:46.40); and Kelseyville’s Roberto Lozano, fifth in the 3,200 (10:42.77).

In relay action, Middletown finished third in the 4×400 at 3:50.09 and fourth in the 4×100 at 47.19.

JV boys

Led by Charles Powell, the Lower Lake junior varsity boys’ team won the NCL I championship with 166 points, easily beating out runner-up Fort Bragg with 98.

Powell, a sophomore, won the 100 (11.96) and 400 (55.87) and was second in the 200 (24.98).

Also for Lower Lake, Angel Jauregui won the 800 (2:18.88),Virgil Ellis won the discus (96-11) in front of teammate Bryson Trask (96-6), Robert Landgraf was second in the 110 hurdles (18.51) and 300 hurdles (49.76), Carlos Berry was second in the high jump (5-4), and Jordan Scott was second in the long jump (17-8 ¾).

Other individual winners were Kelseyville’s John Prescott in the long jump (18-0) and triple jump (37-9¾), and Clear Lake’s Brandon Dickey in the pole vault (9-0) with second going to teammate Quintin Scott (7-0).

In relay action, Middletown won the 4×100 in 48.49.
