Slade Patrick Darrin, 18, of Lakeport — AKA “TwistBit” — has been invited, once again, to exhibit his mastery of EDM (electronic dance music) at the 2016 Bay Area Maker Faire in San Mateo. This will be his third year with the Maker Faire as a Editor’s Choice Blue Ribbon Award-winning performer.
During the event, held on both Saturday and Sunday, Darrin will be giving live demonstrations of his independently-made electronic dance music created with digital composition software. Last year, the Bay Area Maker Faire was attended by over 200,000 people and led to Darrin, under the moniker of “TwistBit”, being asked to play for the Eastlake Music Festival in Oakland, the Treasure Island Flea Market, the East Bay No Shoes — No Booze dances, at the Fame Venue on Broadway in San Francisco, and for the Kansas City Maker Faire.
