Lakeport >> Released in 1969, “Easy Rider” uses photographic techniques to chronicle the journey of two counter-culture bikers and a drop out lawyer as they bike across the U.S. from Los Angeles to New Orleans. Starring Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson, this film throws a spotlight on the turmoil of 1960s America, from illegal drugs, the hippie culture and the Vietnam War to the civil rights movement.

The film screens at the Soper Reese Theatre in Lakeport on Tuesday at 1 and 6 p.m. Rated R with run time of one hour 35 minutes.
