MIDDLETOWN >> The Middletown Area Town Hall (MATH) in conjunction with the Middletown Senior Center held its 2nd Annual Middletown Square Park Chili and Salsa Cook Off at the Middletown Library/Senior Center on Saturday, May 21, with all proceeds benefitting the Center in their Meals on Wheels and lunch programs.

Winners of the Chili and Salsa cook off are as follows:

Chili

1st place, Curt Amarantes, $1000;

2nd place, Hardester’s Markets, $200 (donated back);

3rd place, Shelley Leese, $100.

Salsa

1st place, James Reynolds, $500;

2nd place, Karen Giacopazzi, $100;

tied for 3rd place, Mike Salmans and Curt Amarantes, $50 each.

Chili and Salsa Peoples’ Choice:

Chili, James Reynolds, $50

Salsa, Karen Giacopazzi, $25.

Over 30 volunteers made this event possible. Sponsors include Marlene Elder, Affordable Plumbing Plus, Albion Surveys, Griffin’s Furniture Outlet, Kelseyville Lumber, Calpine at the Geysers, Hardester’s Market, Middletown Area Merchants Association, Middletown Mansion Event Center, Twin Pine Casino and Wild Diamond Vineyards.
