In her final home at-bat, four-year varsity veteran Rachel Wingler of the Clear Lake Cardinals deposited a fastball over the left-field fence for a solo home run in a 10-0 playoff win over the Piedmont Highlanders on Wednesday afternoon in Lakeport. Wingler’s next at-bat will be as high school graduate as the Cardinals play Fortuna in the quarterfinals on Saturday in Fortuna at 10 a.m. Clear Lake’s graduation ceremony is Friday night.
