Lake County >> While the school year is winding down for students in Lake County, approximately three dozen children are busily studying lines, songs and choreography for Lake County Theatre Company’s (LCTC) next production, “We Are Monsters.”
The cast, ranging in age from 5-17, and representing several local schools, have been rehearsing this new comedy musical since March.
We Are Monsters follows human children into a monster cabaret filled with peculiar and frightening creatures. The humans discover vegetarian vampires and rockin’ werewolves, and eventually realize there may be more to these monsters than meets the eye. In the end, these monsters and kids realize the value of friendship and in celebrating each other’s differences.
We Are Monsters will be held in the new Cornelison Performing Arts Center at the Konocti Education Center in Clearlake. Performances take place June 17, 18, 24 and 25 at 7 p.m. and June 19 and 26 at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
