Upper Lake >> In celebration of the 100th year of the Harriet Hammond Upper Lake Library the Women’s Protective Club, which established the library in 1916, is presenting a historic dinner at the Tallman Hotel on Sunday at 6 p.m.
The dinner will be from the menu served at the St. Francis Hotel in 1916.
Between courses, Bernie Butcher will discuss events of the time which lent their names to the various menu dishes including angels on horseback and knickerbocker salad. Pairing of wines made from Upper Lake vineyards will be served.
Proceeds from the dinner benefit the protective club’s continuing efforts to maintain and upgrade the library.
Reservations at $125 per person can be made at the Tallman Hotel at (707) 275-2244, extension 0.
