CLEARLAKE >> The Lake County Children’s Council will be hosting a workshop on Toxic Stress followed by a community screening of the film “Paper Tigers” at Konocti Education Center in Clearlake.
Gabriella Grant, Executive Director of the Center of Excellence for Trauma Informed Care will present on toxic stress, its impacts on the community and how we can work together to effectively address this important issue. Beginning at 4:30 p.m., the community is invited to attend a screening of the film, Paper Tigers.
Directed by James Redford, Paper Tigers follows a year in the life of an alternative high school that has radically changed its approach to disciplining its students, becoming a promising model for how to break the cycles of poverty, violence and disease that affect families.
