Middletown >> Calpine Geothermal Visitor Center will host 40-60 singers to record “Valley Fire” song on Tuesday, with rehearsals Monday.
The dozens of singers will be part of the community chorus for the song inspired by last November’s deadly and destructive fire.
“It’s singing, but you don’t have to be Pavorotti,” songwriter Robert Battaile stated online. “If you can carry a tune and are comfortable singing, consider joining in.”
The project is a fundraiser, and the strategy is to take the song and make a Youtube music video incorporating some of the horrific fire footage in order to attract potential donors to the website www.valleyfiresong.org, where they can give to groups assisting with recovery efforts.
