Upper Lake >> Sunday evening in the dining room at the Tallman Hotel an historic dinner, vintage 1916, was served to honor 100 years of the Harriett Hammond Library.
Bernie Butcher gave historical tidbits on each course of the menu. Bodkins Sparking Wine paired with angels on horseback was served as an appetizer. Then came the Organic Bonterra Fetzer Sauvignon Blanc Wine with knickerbocker salad. Chacewater Rose paired with chicken Alexander was featured as the main course, which was followed by the final course of Chacewater Port 15 paired with a blackberry puffed pastry, heavy cream and rum sauce. Most wines were made from Upper Lake winegrapes.
The event was a success with a full house.
The club will host an ice cream social at the Blue Wing gardens.
Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased at the Upper Lake Library, 310 Second St., or the Upper Lake Mercantile, 9490 Main St.
