UPDATED:

Middletown >> Catherine Stone, Middletown Unified School District (MUSD) superintendent, will give an update on schools after last year’s devastating fire to the Middletown Lunch Club on Wednesday.

Stone became superintendent in June of 2015. Assuming any new position of leadership requires a learning curve, but Stone’s increased exponentially on Sept. 12 when the Valley Fire broke out. Her first year as MUSD’s superintendent was a true trial by fire, a thorough test of her abilities and character under pressure.

Meet Stone on Wednesday and hear how the schools and district are doing, what has been accomplished this year and what to look forward to in 2016-2017.

Lunch will be served on Wednesday by the senior center at noon at the Middletown Senior Center, 21256 Washington St. The program will end promptly at 1 p.m. For $5 per person, eat spaghetti, zucchini and french bread. Reservations are required. Call 987-3113 or email middletownluncheonclub@gmail.com for more information or to make a reservation before 6 p.m. Tuesday. After Tuesday evening, call the senior center, 987-3113.
