Lower Lake >> High school students from around the county are invited to attend a four-day Youth at Work Training workshop June 20-23 followed by a job fair on the fifth day, June 24. Students will learn about work safety such as how to avoid injury and recognize hazards in all workplaces from offices to food service. They will address the rights and responsibilities that come with working and learn tips on how to handle conflict.
The daily workshops will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the job fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
At the conclusion of the training, students will take a certification exam from the National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health. Students must attend all four days in order to receive an attendance certificate and take the exam.
The workshop is provided without charge and includes lunch through the summer feeding program.
