A disease of the mind
In response to Marty Hinman’s question to me, I can sum it up in one sentence.
Liberalism is a disease of the mind that inhibits rational and reasonable thinking.
(i.e. Radical Islam is the bane of the world yet this President can’t utter those words)
There is a reason the symbol of the Democrat Party is a Jackass.
The left is a one-way street of lies and distortion, Saturday paper June 11 Opinion Page was a perfect example.
Had lunch with our liberal friends on Monday and in a political discussion I made the statement that 10 Arab nations didn’t make a $100 million donation to the Clinton Foundation out of the kindness of their hearts, (i.e. pay for play). He stuttered without a response, which is unusual, but probably left him with I am probably right. Countries that have an abysmal record of women’s and gay rights which includes murdering them, (i.e. Orlando, Florida).

Politics — moving on
With the primaries finished, I think it is time to start discussing issues. Businesses design and develop their products and, then, try to hire the best person to sell that product. Makes sense. Our political parties, on the other hand, select their “salesperson” first and then design the product (ie, platform). I have always felt that the platform is the dominant item and that the candidate (and perhaps his/her views) is subordinate to the desires of the party although in recent years this doesn’t seem to be the case of the candidates elected to Congress.
With the issue and standpoint confusion and complexity likely to continue, I feel it is important for voters to know how members of Congress feel about such issues as reducing the national debt, the massive defense expenditures, the possibility of modifying medical care, subsidies, and the many other issues they will be asked to consider over the next (representative) term.
In California the issue of water is terribly important. Should our state do as the other states do and treat water as a resource, and if so, how to deal with archaic water rights that treat water as personal property? In the future we also have the problems of (probably) a continuing drought, a growing population and increasing demand for “people water,” and a diminishing supply of water for agriculture.

Moving forward
Curtis, Tina and Tenae Stewart would like to take this opportunity to thank all the good people of Lake County who supported our family and businesses for 23+ years.
The Valley Fire took it all from us.
We have all relocated to Sonoma County to be close to family, sold our property and sold Middletown Florist & Gifts, now the new owners can make new memories.
Not everyone is on Facebook and we feel we have left a lot of wonderful friends in the dark and we want to let them know we are okay, moving forward with life and making new memories too.
If anyone would like to get in contact with us our new mailing address is:
