Lucerne >> Marymount California University (MCU) recently announced a tuition reduction for its bachelor’s program for students who reside in Lake County. The new tuition, comparable to the tuition at California state universities, will make affordable the two years of upper-division coursework that many students need to complete a bachelor’s degree.
With the reduction in tuition, students can expect to pay approximately $9,900 a year for full-time enrollment. University administrators will work individually with students to determine their eligibility for state and federal aid. For some qualified applicants, most or all of the $9,900 tuition could be covered by that aid. This provides an opportunity that has never before existed in Lake County.
The university offers bachelor’s degrees in business, psychology and liberal arts at the MCU Lakeside Campus in Lucerne and graduate degree programs in business, community psychology and leadership and global development that combine online course work with faculty-mentored research projects and directed study.
Liberal arts students may choose criminal justice as an emphasis and psychology students may choose Early Childhood Education (ECE) as a concentration.
People who have received their associate’s degrees, or have taken most of their general education (GE) courses, MCU Lakeside’s degree completion program can help them achieve that bachelor’s degree.
Currently all MCU Lakeside classes are held during evening hours, enabling those who work daytime hours to attend without missing days of work. Some online classes provide additional flexibility for work/family.
