LAKEPORT >> With Delbert’s Memorial Raceway not quite ready to host motorcycle racing because of the unseasonable rain that fell last week, round four of the Nor-Cal Short Track Championship Series returned to the Lakeport Speedway Indoor Track last weekend.
Round five is scheduled to take place at Delbert’s.
One of the best races during round four came in the 250 Division where Frank Chesebro and Brian Bartlow battled for the top spot nearly the entire race. Despite repeated attempts by Bartlow to make the winning pass, Chesebro held his ground and the lead and went on to win. CJ Mattos came in third.
The Pro Money Class produced another thriller as John Vanderlaan held off the challenges of runner-up Wyatt Farris and third-place finisher Brad Miller.
Round four also marked the debut of the new Nor-Cal Short Track Championship Series T-shirts from sponsor Hillside Powersports and Marine. Other Series sponsors are Sand n’ Dirt Motorsports, Jitterbean of Lakeport, Furia Motorsports, Feel Like A Pro Dirt, MotionPro, Ramspur Winery, Morteza Farr, D.O. Innovatie Orthopedic & Spine Surgery, Keigwins at the Track, Silveira Buick GMC of Healdsburg, and Suomy, which will donate three helmets to the top three riders in the Open DTX class at season’s end.
