ST. HELENA >> The CalFire Sonoma-Lake-Napa’s law enforcement unit arrested Scott E. Wilmore, age 61, June 24 on suspicion of starting a wildland fire under the Lake Sonoma Bridge. The wildland fire was reported to the CalFire Emergency Command Center on at 10:22 a.m. and burned a quarter acre. The fire was quickly extinguished by Cal Fire, Cloverdale Fire Protection District (FPD), Geyserville FPD and Healdsburg Fire Department.
Wilmore has been charged with one count of arson, CA Penal Code section 451 (c) and was booked at the Sonoma County Jail. Bail was set at $40,000.
CalFire Law Enforcement was assisted by Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. Wilmore was arrested without incident.
As conditions are very dry throughout the state, CalFire continues to urge the public to be vigilant while working or enjoying outdoor activities and report any suspicious activity.
