LAKEPORT >> John Tomlinson, Stage Director, announced that the set for the Mendocino College Lake Center and the Lake County Theater Company production of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, has been designed. The staging, by set designer Bill Chambard, features various levels of platforms for the outside production in Lakeport’s Library Park on July 30 and 31.

The backdrop will be the lake and Mount Konocti.

“Bill Chambard’s set design is simple and elegant,” Tomlinson said. “When I picture it nestled in between Library Park and the Lake, it makes me so excited for our move in date.”

The stage will be built in the old auto shop on the Clearlake High School campus, thanks to the generosity of the Lakeport Unified School District. Construction will be under the supervision of Kevin Moore, Production Manager, who has over 35 years stage construction experience. Actors will practice on the stage in the auto shop and then it will be moved to the park during the week of the production.

The play will be presented in Library Park, Lakeport, on Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31. The event is free to those that wish to bring their own blankets or chairs. Reserved seating will be available.

For information please call John Tomlinson at 707 355-2211. To sponsor the event please call Richard Smith at 707 533-9230.
