Upper Lake >> Friday’s Local Cuisine Scene will feature food pairings from the grill with Lake County wines.

Cache Creek Catering and Lake County Wine Studio present the monthly food and wine series, serving gourmet appetizers paired with select county wines. Locally produced foods are featured as key ingredients in recipes created by Cache Creek Catering.

The first pairing will be Wildhurst Chardonnay with an orzo salad with shaved corn, heirloom tomato and grilled zucchini. The second pairing features Jelly Jar Old Vine Zinfandel with a pulled pork slider with bourbon brown sugar barbecue sauce and rainbow carrot cabbage slaw. The dessert course will be banana and blackberry ice cream with Aliénor Cellars Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc.

The series is held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on the second Friday of each month. Reservations are required and include a 30-day complimentary membership to the Local Cuisine Scene Club. Members will be offered private pairings, pairing consultations, special private catering rates, access to recipes and first option for seatings at cuisine scenes for members and their guests.

Lake County Wine Studio is both an art gallery and a tasting room, wine bar and retail shop for the wines of Lake County. Artist’s shows are held on a monthly basis with art and wine receptions held the first Friday and subsequent Saturday of each month except in January.

The gallery is located at 9505 Main St. in Upper Lake. It is open daily June-August from 1 to 7 p.m. and Friday from 1 to 8 p.m. The art show on display for the month of July is by Diana Liebe.
