Children who participate in the Early Connection Preschool Program in Lakeport got a special surprise on May 16, when they each received a book with their name in it to take home and call their own. The donation of the books is part of the Lakeport Kiwanis Club “Young Children: Priority One” project, which focuses on children through age 5. Patricia Cox, Jessica Kelley, and Joyce Porterfield (Kiwanis Club Members) enjoyed visiting the classroom to hand out the books to each child individually. The Lakeport Kiwanis Club collaborated with Site Supervisor, Katie Mansell to choose a special for each child and ultimately, make the program a success. – Contributed photo
