Lakeport >> The Board of Supervisors is seeking applicants for membership on the newly formed Housing Task Force (HTF), which will serve as the advisory body for affordable housing in the Lake County.

The governing board of HTF will consist of 12 members for a three-year term of service.

Members of the governing board must reside and be registered to vote within the unincorporated areas of Lake County. Appointments will ensure a diverse working group capable of problem solving, developing and implementing housing easement projects and tasks, and working as a group to directly address the housing challenges of the county, according to assistant clerk of the board.

The board seeks applicants with any of the following experience or affiliations:

• Self-help and nonprofit housing development and organizations

• Native American housing or United Native Housing Development Corporation processes and opportunities

• Senior housing programs and project or facility management

• Domestic violence sheltering, transitional housing programs and projects.

• Lake Family Resource Center assistance programs, funding mechanisms or 501C3 administration

• Homeless issues, funding programs and sheltering solutions

• Financial administration, grant funding and fiscal management

• Diverse construction methods or development process expertise

• Social Service program needs and availability of services or ongoing delivery of agency or organizational programs

• Special needs housing issues

• Real estate, property management, public/private transaction architecture & affordable unit retention

Applications can be found online at www.co.lake.ca.us, on the Board of Supervisors page. Hard copies of the applications are also available at the Lake County Courthouse, Clerk of the Board Office, Room 109, 255 N. Forbes St. in Lakeport.

Applications must be received by Lake County no later than 5 p.m. on July 29. Applications can be dropped off or mailed to Clerk of the Board, 255 N. Forbes Street, Lakeport, CA 95453. They can also be emailed to Carolyn.Purdy@lakecountyca.gov.
