NICE >> Premier Boxing Champions’ Toe to Toe Tuesday returns to Robinson Rancheria Resort & Casino tonight, bringing the defeated fighter from the last main event along with it.
This time, junior middleweight Levan “The Wolf” Ghvamichava (16-2-1, 12 KOs) — who was finished by a punishing fifth-round body shot from Sergey Lipinets at the Nice casino on March 15 — will battle against veteran slugger Breidis Prescott (29-7, 21 KOs) in a 10-round bout. It’s the Eastern European’s first fight since that TKO and he’s looking to avoid back-to-back losses.
However, that might be a challenge since Prescott possesses a resume that includes a failed 2011 IBF Latino super lightweight title bout and a 2008 TKO against middleweight star Amir Khan, handing the British contender the first loss of his career. The good news for Ghvamichava, though, is that the Colombian has lost half of his last 14 fights.
Both men weighed in 148 and 147 pounds, respectively, on Monday night.
Notes: There are four other matchups on tonight’s card. Unlike the last fight night at Robinson, every fighter made weight. The fight will be televised on Fox Sports 1 with coverage beginning at 8 p.m.
