LAKE COUNTY >> The 24th annual Buckingham Summer Junior and the 23rd annual Lake County Junior Golf Championship take place on the first two days of August. The Summer Junior is Aug. 1 at Buckingham Golf and Country Club and the Lake County Junior is Aug. 2 at Adams Springs Golf Course on Cobb Mountain.
The Summer Junior is open to boys and girls ages 8-17 and is divided into several age flights. The entry fee is $15, which includes green fees, tee prizes, lunch and awards.
The tournament is sponsored by Buckingham Golf and Country Club, the Buckingham Niners, the Buckingham Tournament Players Club and the Buckingham Women’s Golf Club.

The following day, Aug. 2, the Lake County Junior tees off at Adams Springs. Boys and girls ages 10-17 are eligible and will be divided into several age flights. The entry fee of $15 includes green fees, tee prizes, lunch and awards. The deadline to sign up is July 30 and entry forms are available at all Lake County golf course pro shops.
This year’s tournament is sponsored by Clearlake Callayomi Masonic Lodge, Eddie and Linda Mullins, the Hoberg Family, the Buckingham Men’s Golf Club and John and Julie Berry.
Matt Wotherspoon and Madison Witt are the defending champions.
