This week the Gospel story is a favorite with all Mary’s, not so much for Martha’s. Yes, this is the “serve food” or “sit and listen” lesson. Oddly enough, our Old Testament lesson is quite the opposite. Abram is serving food to three strangers, and Sarai is hiding in the wings listening, when they are first told about their promised descendents. But Abram, playing Martha, is given the promise, while Sarai is a mere bystander.
When do we sit and listen? And when do we serve others? On the other hand, Craig rarely expounds on the obvious. So what will the message be? Come and find out.
