BOISE, Idaho >> An Idaho man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly calling in a fake bomb threat earlier this year to a Ukiah Starbucks, the Ukiah Police Department reported.
According to the UPD, a man called the Starbucks on Airport Park Boulevard around 2:40 p.m. Jan. 22 and reported that a bomb was in the business.
Employees and customers evacuated the building and UPD officers responded. After officers checked the building and surrounding area without finding a suspicious device, the business opened again.
While investigating the incident, officers determined that the caller was Tayden D. Liebschwager, 29, of Nampa, Idaho, and obtained a felony warrant for his arrest.
According to the UPD, it was discovered that the suspect had previously dated an employee of the business. At the time of the bomb threat, that employee was not working.
When he learned of the arrest warrant, Liebschwager apparently “took many precautions to avoid being apprehended.”
UPD detectives contacted the U.S. Marshal’s Service for assistance in locating the suspect, and on July 13, Liebschwager was arrested in Boise by U.S. marshals and the Ada County Sheriff’s Department.
Liebschwager was booked into Ada County Jail under $30,000 on suspicion of making a false bomb threat and for contempt of court.
