Firefighters gained 30 percent containment on a wildfire that broke out near Foothill Dr. and Country Club near Lucerne on Tuesday evening. The Foothill fire was first reported at 5:17 p.m. and had grown to 30 acres by 6:15. At press time flames had consumed 60 acres, but Lake County and CalFire crews, including nine aircraft and 130 personnel had stopped the forward momentum, according to CalFire’s Russell West. Although early reports suggested five homes had been evacuated, at press time no evacuation orders or road closures were in place and no damage to structures had been reported.
