CLEARLAKE OAKS >> Members of CLearlake Oaks United Methodist Church arrived for services on Sunday morning to discover their electronic equipment stolen from the sanctuary and the fellowship hall, according to Rev. Dawn-karen Roberts.

“We unfortunately have been wiped out of all the electronic equipment that we utilize for services, outreach and events,” said Roberts. “It’s a sad day when people feel free to steal from the community churches that serve them.”

Roberts said that she discovered and reported the burglary to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Reportedly missing from the church includes a new Yamaha 600I Sound System that was torn from its placement. The equipment had been recently gifted to the church by the Clearlake Oaks/Glenhaven Business Association. Other items stolen include a UMC Hymnal Player with speakers, a purple Playback/Bluetooth Speaker and Wireless Microphone System along with other miscellaneous microphones and equipment for music and audio needs.

“The majority of our congregational members are senior citizens from the Oaks and Clearlake areas,” Roberts said. “They were clearly shaken. They do not have the resources to replace their loss. They do however, have great faith, forgiving hearts and some amazing acapella voices as we discovered on Sunday morning.”

If anyone has any knowledge of the theft or comes across the equipment described, please contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
