The universe we live in is one composed of energy. Science has discovered that 99 percent of the universe is invisible. From the largest star to the center of a single atom, the commonality is the vibration of energies. Whether we look out to the cosmos or within to the center of an atom, it is difficult to determine which is the grander view. Everything is interconnected through vibrational energy.
Our body, and therefore our health are also subjected to energies in our environment. The sun for instance radiates energies that help us produce vitamin D which is essential to our health. On the other hand, too much exposure to the suns energy can be detrimental and can lead to premature skin aging and cancer.
There are positive and there are negative energies that can impact our body. Positive energy vibrations promote health. Negative energy vibrations are detrimental to our well-being. A good question to ask yourself is are there negative elements in your life that are bringing you down? It may be wise to consider removing those negative forces that can be less then supportive.
Research has shown that having a pet has a positive impact on health. Having a sense of humor is another way to be healthy. Music is another. Music is a form of vibrational energy that can positively impact our mood, and calm our nerves.
In my own life, my wife and I played classical music to our son when he was in the womb. This is known as the Mozart effect. Science has demonstrated that classical music played to the developing human in the uterus leads to a calmer baby and improved intelligence. The research is controversial, but in my experience, my son did benefit from doing this and has a greater appreciation for classical music.
Some hospitals are promoting the use of music to reduce stress while waiting to see a doctor. A friend of mine with breast cancer went to the Stanford University hospital for treatment and said there were musicians playing the harp and piano in waiting areas to help ease the stress of cancer therapy.
Music has the power to lift our spirits. Recently I went to see the classic rock band, Boston. I was in a terrible mood on the way to the show. The shootings in Dallas had just happened and I was upset at the tragedy.
One of the founding principles of our country is the right to assemble. Lately, it seems as though terrible things happen to innocent people when they assemble. This did not deter me from going to the concert.
The music at the Boston show was healing for me. It completely changed my negative state to a positive one. My sadness was lifted and happiness prevailed.
The concert reminded me what is good about the United States. The opening song from the band was the Star Spangled Banner. I wasn’t the only one crying at the goodness that song represents. Many people around me were also touched at that particular selection.
There is music that no matter how many times I hear the song, the hair on the back of back of my neck will stand up. Amazing Grace and Ava Maria are examples. Music is emotional. It lifts us out of the dumps of negative feelings and restores happiness. This is good for you, so listen to your favorite music and be happy.
There is a Boston song called, “More than a Feeling.” The lyrics say it all:
“I looked out this morning and the sun was gone
Turned on some music to start my day
I lost myself in a familiar song
I closed my eyes and I slipped away”
