Kelseyville >> A man died in a head-on collision that also left one driver and child with serious injuries Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred on Highway 281 just south of Point Lake View Drive at about 2:30 p.m. Traveling northbound, Andrew Kramen reportedly veered into oncoming traffic and crashed his 1996 Volvo 850 with the front end of a 2006 Ford F-350 driven by Alvin D. Reed Jr., blocking the southbound lane.

Kramen, 30, was fatally injured in the collision, according to a report by California Highway Patrol investigating officer John Geer. The Middletown resident did not appear to be wearing a seat belt.

A 7-year-old boy in the passenger seat, who was restrained, sustained lacerations and a possible broken wrist. He was transported via REACH air ambulance to UC Davis.

Reed, 45, who was also using a safety belt, suffered facial lacerations and a possible broken nose and was taken to St. Helena Hospital, Clear Lake for treatment.
