UKIAH >> Ukiah Speedway fans were sizzling in the summer heat Saturday as the Taco Bell bombers, jammers, modifieds and T&T Towing jalopies sizzled on the paved track.
Jammers
Brandi Robertson proved to be the driver to beat in the jammers division as she swept the action, winning both the heat race and main event in her No. 14 car. As a result, she moved up two notches to fourth place in the jammers season point standings. Elizabeth Ingalls is the divisional points leader and Gene O’Dell Sr. is just five points behind in second place.
Taking the checkered flag behind Robertson in the main event were Raymond Taylor Jr., Odell Sr., Tiona Smith and Ingalls.
Bombers
The No. 96 bomber driven by R.J. Randall had a big night as Randall won the A heat race and main event. Brandon Verde won the B heat race.
Bob Mook continues to lead in the bomber A division point standings while Verde leads in the B division.
Modifieds
Mike Collins won the second heat race and the main event in the modifieds division. Darin Sullivan was first to the line in the first heat race.
Following Collins across the finish line in the main event were Wade Coleman, Darrin Knight, Clay Caturegli and Adrianna Strugnell.
Knight is the divisional points leader.
Jalopies
An entry level racing division, the jalopies livened up the night’s card with some thrilling racing action. Brandon Small and Wayne Hunt won the heat races while Johnny Small piloted his 707 car to victory in the main event, finishing ahead of Hunt, Dave Furia, Joe Small and Brandon Small.

Racing action continues at the Ukiah Speedway beginning tonight as the Redwood Empire Fair runs through Sunday. Motorcycles, side-by-sides and ATVs race tonight, the Mudd Bogg races are Friday at 7 p.m., the truck and tractor pulls are Saturday at 7 p.m., and the Dirt Nationals are Sunday at 6 p.m.
Racing action shifts to the Lakeport Speedway on Aug. 13 when the bandoleros, bombers, jammers, Legends Cars and midgets are on the racing card. It’s fan appreciation night and grandstand seats are just $5. Gates open at 3:30 p.m. and racing begins at 5 p.m.
