LAKEPORT >> The Lakeport Speedway will honor its loyal fans with a $5 grandstand entry fee on Saturday night, part of Fan Appreciation Day at the quarter-mile paved oval.
Saturday’s racing card features bandoleros, Taco Bell bombers, jammers, Legends Cars and midgets. Gates at the Lake County Fairgrounds open at 3:30 p.m. and qualifying begins at 5 p.m.
“Every driver out there knows that the fans make racing an exciting sport,” Lakeport Speedway racing promoter Dave Furia said. “They don’t drive just because they can, they love the excitement of the cheer of the fans. Drivers are glad that they have this opportunity to race and we couldn’t be prouder to be able to offer $5 grandstand entry for everyone who wants to come in and cheer on our drivers. It’s going to be a fun-filled, exciting night of racing and we hope that families come out and support our drivers.”
Racing returns to the Ukiah Speedway on Aug. 27 with a special appearance by the North State Modified Series. The modifieds will join a racing lineup that also features the bombers, jalopies and jammers.
