Lakeport >> Shoppers driving out of the Safeway parking lot can now look up and see the newest quilt block part of the Lake County Quilt Trail (LCQT).

This 4-by-4-foot block called “Home Sweet Home” is displayed on Sterling Mortgage and North Bay Merchant Services located at 1002 11th St. in Lakeport. Built in 1978, the building was originally a private home.

The quilt block name is inspired by the mortgage company staff’s mission of homeownership for clients. It was drawn and painted by the LCQT team, a group of volunteer quilters, graphic artists, painters, writers, carpenters and a videographer.

The LCQT is an agricultural and tourism project designed to promote community pride. For more information about the LCTC visit lakecountyquilttrail.com or go to Facebook and search LCQT.
