With the first football game involving a Lake County high school team just 10 days away, the Record-Bee will begin previewing the county’s five varsity squads beginning with the Middletown Mustangs in Friday’s print edition. Lower Lake is up next on Saturday followed by Upper Lake on Aug. 23, Kelseyville on Aug. 24 and Clear Lake on Aug. 25. Lower Lake hosts De Anza of Cupertino on Aug. 26 in the season opener for both teams. The other county schools make their season debuts the weekend of Sept. 2-3.
