CLEARLAKE >> St. Helena Hospital Clear Lake remained evacuated on Monday due to the Clayton Fire.
The hospital received evacuation orders from fire officials at approximately 2:35 p.m. on August 14 and patients were all evacuated to Sutter Lakeside Hospital in Lakeport. Hospital incident command remained on-site with facilities and securities staff monitoring safety and ensuring the building was secure.
Evacuation efforts proceeded smoothly. The final patient was evacuated at 4:30 p.m.
“We are grateful for the work of first responders who are battling the fire and ensuring safety,” said David Santos, President & CEO of St. Helena Hospital Clear Lake. “We are committed to caring for the health care needs of our community and are hopeful that we will resume services at the hospital soon.”
The St. Helena Family Health Center — Clearlake on Lakeshore Drive opened on Monday to serve the community.
In addition to the Clearlake clinic, the St. Helena Family Health Centers in Kelseyville and Middletown and St. Helena Medical Care — Hidden Valley Lake also opened.
The Konocti Wellness Center in Lower Lake is closed.
Santos noted that St. Helena Hospital Clear Lake will resume patient care services at the hospital as soon as possible. The hospital must receive clearance from the fire department and California Department of Public Health before welcoming patients.
