Our laws must change
They have arrested a Clearlake resident for deliberately starting the Clayton fire that destroyed 4,000 acres, 175 homes and buildings etc. He is a known arsonist who officials already knew has started 17 former fires and yet they didn’t arrest him until this big one.
Our legal system is very flawed. It only protects the guilty at the expense of the innocent victims. The laws must change and soon.
Since they are now trying to make it illegal for known terrorists to buy guns why not make it illegal for known pyromaniacs to buy matches? This makes as much sense and will do as much good as changing the 2nd Amendment.

American to block refugees
In regards to Hillary Clinton’s assertion that it goes against American values to not accept refugee’s into this country I wish to remind all her misguided, head in the sand liberal supporters out there that she is just full of baloney as usual.
President Roosevelt refused Jewish refugees before hostilities began with Germany during WW2 for fear of spies being amongst them.
Hillary Clinton’s hubby, president Bill Clinton, refused refugee’s from Haiti for fear of bring AIDS to our shores.
Obama earlier in his presidency refused Iraqi refugees for fear of letting in terrorists into this country, believe that or not.
It seems very odd to me that you hear nothing about the Obama administration taking in any Christian refugees, only Muslims.
Yes he is fundamentally transforming the United States all right and the hand writing is on the wall.
The only way Christian refugee currently can get here is through private parties or support from Christian organizations and not from our government.
Oh and by the way Kevin, while I am on the subject of refugees, how many Syrians refugees have you taken in currently just for a visit? And while I have your attention, you may wish to visit yYutube.
There you will be able to view in living color Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice, and Obama spewing their narrative lies immediately and for weeks that the attack on our complex in Benghazi was caused by a derogatory video of the Muslim faith. Therefore why question the fact that same narrative wasn’t given to Pat Smith as well, while a different narrative from Clinton was given to her daughter and other middle eastern leaders.

Other flaws
Betty Chirco’s criticism of Donald Trump in the August 10 Record-Bee is right on the mark. But does that mean that we should vote for Mrs. Clinton just because Donald Trump is a flawed candidate?
The Hillary campaign is finding that it’s easier to bash Trump than to debate the issues. She does not want to debate the substance. The policies that they have carried out, foreign and domestic, have led to a nation that’s in decline and it’s only getting worse for people in all walks of life — except for the rich.
Mrs. Clinton cannot effectively deal with this or explain it. She does not have any solutions that are anything different from what President Obama has been doing.
In short, Donald Trump is our only hope if we want peace and prosperity for our nation. For the last 15 years we have been a nation in decline. As it stands now there is no end in sight.
