EUREKA >> The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will hold a public meeting for a proposed project to improve the Highways 20/53 intersection Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Clearlake Oaks Moose Lodge.
This project proposes to install a roundabout at the Highways 20/53 intersection to improve its safety and operation, according to the Caltrans website.
Construction could begin as early as 2018, said Phil Frisbie, Jr., Caltrans acting chief of public information.
The drop-in style meeting Thursday will have displays of the proposed project. Caltrans staff will be on hand to answer questions. For those unable to attend the meeting, the displays will be available on the project website at www.dot.ca.gov/dist1/d1projects/20-53.
The Moose Lodge is located at 15900 E. Highway 20, east of Clearlake Oaks.
