On Saturday, Sept. 10 from 2 to 6 p.m., the Lake County Fire Recovery Blues Benefit #3: Valley Fire Tribute Concert will be held at Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum, 9921 Soda Bay Road, 1 mile off Highway 29 at Kit’s Corner in Kelseyville.
Gates open at 1:30 p.m. for music, crafts, food, beer & wine, info booths, raffles and a silent auction.
This is the second blues benefit produced by Spotlight On Productions for Hope City, which has located in Middletown to rebuild homes lost to the Valley and Clayton Fires. Hope City is a project of Hope Crisis Response Network (HCRN), a faith-based disaster response organization based in Elkhart, Indiana. Funds raised will be used to purchase building materials from the local community. Hope City requests no overhead or staffing fees, as they rely fully upon volunteers to build the homes. They are an active member of Team Lake County operating locally with NCO (North Coast Opportunities) as their fiscal agent.
The musical line-up will open with Dave Broida & Blues Farm. Blues guitarist Mighty Mike Schermer of Austin, Texas will be backed by friends from Sonoma County including Nick Otis on Drums, Tony Stead on Keyboards and Donny Mederos on Bass. Joining them will be Vocalist Miz Dee, who has returned to the Bay Area after several years touring Europe. “Pop” Booth of the “Lost Treasures” show on KPFZ 88.1 FM will grace the stage once again as MC.
Sound will be provided by the father-son team of Wils-Tone Sound & Recording.
Tickets are $15, cash at the gate. 12 and under are free. The concert will be held on the field in front of the old trolley car, so bring folding chairs, hats, and sun umbrellas. Carpooling is recommended; ATV and golf cart transport from the parking areas.
Limited parking near the barn will be available for those who need close access. ADA accommodations will be available.
