ROHNERT PARK >> Kevin Chavez scored twice and assisted on another goal as the Clear Lake High School boys’ soccer team opened the season with a 5-2 victory over Credo High School on Thursday afternoon in Rohnert Park.
Clear Lake’s team disbanded early last season because it didn’t have enough players, but the roster is 16 strong this season and could add another player in the next week or so, according to Clear Lake head coach Tony Paskaly.
“I think we’re going to be pretty good for the next couple of years,” Paskaly said.
Alexis Pizano, Luis Julian-Martinez and Luis Muniz also scored for the Cardinals.
Clear Lake led 2-1 after the first half.
“It looks like our team is coming together,” Paskaly said. “This was our first game and Credo’s fourth.”
