Clearlake >> Clearlake Car Club Members organized the second Susan Constable Memorial Run around the lake raising $800 for Hospice Services of Lake County, a nonprofit organization.
Constable was a longstanding member of the club, serving as secretary and treasurer and active in the No Name Car Club, Lake Lords and the Antique Auto Club of America. The Clearlake Car Club created the annual cruise to honor her for her past service and dedication. Impressed with the compassionate care Constable received from hospice services during her decline, club members voted to make hospice the beneficiary of the money raised by the cruise.
On Aug. 23, hospice staff met with members of the Clearlake Car Club’s 66 members to receive the donation of $800.
Mark Parode, president of the car club, said they always welcome new members, and all models and ages of cars are welcome.
The club meets regularly on the second Thursday of each month at the Russel Rustici County Park’s Club House. For more information on the Clearlake Car Club, its activities or how to become a member, call Parode at (707) 995-6091.
