Ukiah >> “A Night of innovative Acoustic Guitar” at Canova Records and Music School takes place Saturday at 8 p.m. showcasing eight-string guitarist Nate Lopez and Travis Rinker.
Lopez and his seven- and eight-string guitars allow him to play both bass, chords and melody at the same time. In addition to his jazz, funk and blues inspired originals, Lopez specializes in instrumental arrangements of popular classics by groups from Fleetwood Mac, Bob Marley to Daft Punk. He is the 2015 Arkansas Contemporary Fingerstyle Champion and featured on EMG TV.
Rinker, a Lakeport resident, is a solo guitarist, performing musician and recording artist of 12 years. Combining percussive fingerstyle guitar and using a loop station, he creates ambient, reflective instrumentals.
The cost for the event is $10 at the door. Canova Records and Music School is located at 246 N. State St. in Ukiah.
