LAKEPORT >> Sheriff Brian Martin and Lakeport Mayor Marc Spillman today announced their endorsements of City Councilman Martin Scheel in the Nov. 8 runoff election for Lake County Supervisor in District 4.
“I am proud to endorse Martin Scheel for Supervisor. He stood shoulder to shoulder with me in assisting emergency response during the fires of 2015 even though they didn’t directly impact his community,” said Martin.
Scheel spent the first 24 hours of the Valley Fire working alongside Martin and supervisor Rob Brown to guide the evacuation. Martin pointed to Scheel’s dedication and leadership in issuing the endorsement.
“Martin Scheel has impressed me greatly in the four years I have served with him. He understands the need for a local connection to the public,” declared Spillman.
The mayor offered his full support.
“It is truly an honor to earn the endorsement of these two highly respected community leaders,” stated Scheel. “Sheriff Brian Martin has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help the citizens of Lake County during our terrible wildfires. Mayor Marc Spillman has been a champion for Lakeport taxpayers and small businesses. They both understand the importance of electing a County Supervisor who can begin delivering results for District 4 residents from day one on the job.”
