In your hands

Galilee Lutheran Church

Lay leaders Debra Blum and Janis Andre

This Sunday we move our service back indoors at 10 a.m. for the fall. This is the Lutheran Church’s “God’s Work, Our Hands” day and new member Sunday. We are asking the question, “Where are YOUR hands meant to be?” In other words, pray like it all depends on God, but work like it all depends on you.

At 2:30 p.m., we’ll meet at Rocky Point Skilled Nursing in Lakeport to sing old gospel songs (and some new ones, too). Tuesday night at 7 p.m. we meet in our conference room for Bible Study and discussion.

Galilee Lutheran is located at 8860 Soda Bay Road in the Kelseyville Rivieras. At Galilee, we invite everyone. We invite people of all races and economic status. We invite experienced Christians, those looking for faith and those damaged by the church. We invite everyone along the gender and sexual orientation spectrum. We want to share God’s love with you.

If you have not been to a Sunday church service for a while, you are invited to join with Kelseyville United Methodists for the second Sunday in the Season of Creation on September 11 at 9 a.m. when Davis Palmer will offer the message “Uncreation and Reclamation.”

Ecumenical prayers lifted for Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia the United States and the Middle East, and we pray for ALL who are separated from the Goodness of God through fire, flood, hurricane, tornado, earthquake, human and non human disasters. Mike Heintz will provide music for congregational singing.

A second informal Spirit Connection Service will be offered at 5 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall that includes a Soup Supper. Samaya Epstein and Wally Gafvert III will offer music and songs while Pastor Voris Brumfield will lead the service.

All are welcome to join us honoring the healing power of God. The Kelseyville United Methodist Church is located at First and Main Streets in Kelseyville, across the street from the Saw Shop. Remembrance

Clearlake Community United Methodist Church

Middletown Community United Methodist Church

Pastor Shannon Kimbell-Auth

Both Judaism and Christianity are filled with commands as to what must be remembered. In some cases they are events, in others circumstances, words or promises. Today we will remember; we will remember the events of 9/11, we will remember the fires, particularly the Valley Fire started one year ago, this weekend. We remember, not to fuel the fire of hate or blame or grief, we remember because as we begin to remember we can begin to see the bigger picture, the one that involves hope and healing and wholeness. Please join us.

Clearlake Community United Methodist Church is located at 14521 Pearl Ave in Clearlake. The service will begin at 9:30.

Midletown Community United Methodist Church is located at 15833 Armstrong St in Middletown. The service will begin at 11:30 followed by a free meal for anyone in the community, seeking community.

Child care will not be provided at either location but children will be welcomed to participate fully in the service.

Rev. Shannon Kimbell-Auth is pastor of both congregations and will be bringing the message at each location.
