LAKEPORT >> Judge Andrew Blum granted a continuance to the Preliminary Hearing after Craig Allen Fenno, II, 28, appeared at the Lake County Superior Courthouse in Lakeport with his Defense Attorney Mitchell Hauptman this week.
Fenno is charged with Obstructing/Resisting Executive Officer, Battery on a Peace Officer With Injury, Escaping/Attempting Escape After Arrest and three counts of Obstructing/Resisting Public officer, along with a Violation of Probation and three prior charges of Driving with Suspended/Revoked License With No Driving Ability.
The charges stem from a July incident in which Fenno allegedly stabbed and seriously wounded a Clearlake man. Fenno remained at large for two weeks before officers located him at a home on 12th St. and detained him temporarily after a reportedly violent struggle. One officer was injured in the arrest.
Fenno then escaped from the squad car. Officers finally subdued him, deploying a Taser in the process.
The parties stipulated to continue the Preliminary Hearing with the court’s consent. Fenno’s next appearance is set for Sept. 19 at 8:15 a.m. in Department Three.
