FORT BRAGG >> Quarterback Lucas Triplett passed for three touchdowns in the first half as the Fort Bragg Timberwolves opened up a 28-6 halftime lead and then held off a Lower Lake rally in the second half to beat the Lower Lake Trojans 35-27 in North Central League I varsity football action at Timberwolf Stadium.

Lower Lake quarterback Hokulani Wickard helped spark the Trojans (1-1, 2-2) by throwing touchdown passes to Taylor Scott and Jermaine Watson in the third quarter to cut Fort Bragg’s lead to 28-19.

The Timberwolves went on a long and time-consuming scoring drive in the fourth quarter to open up a 35-19 lead with less than two minutes remaining. The Trojans scored on a pass form Wickard to Ethan Watson with time running out to close to 35-27.

Nick Sani scored the Trojans’ lone touchdown in the first half on a 20-yard run.

Fort Bragg dominated Lower Lake in the junior varsity game 42-12, dropping the Trojans to 3-1.
